The Washington Animal Rescue League is the only animal shelter in the DC area with a full-service veterinary hospital and a professional behavioral rehabilitation team. The animals in our care come from other shelters that do not have the space or resources to care for them, large scale disaster or cuelty case rescues, and the public. Besides taking care of homeless and abused animals, the League offers an array of free and deeply discounted services to low-income pet owners, allowing them to keep their beloved pets.
