SEED's mission is to increase college access and success for underserved students. In 1998, we opened The SEED School of Washington, D.C., the nation's first college-prep, public boarding school. It is now one of the top performing public schools in Washington, D.C., and based on its success, SEED replicated the model to Maryland. Ninety-four percent of our graduates go on to college.

The SEED Foundation created the College Transition & Support Program to help our Washington, D.C. graduates achieve their post-secondary goals and become college graduates.

    I truly believe that we are changing lives and bettering education in the U.S. one young person at a time with SEED and efforts like it. I'm very proud to be a part of SEED. Everyday that I come to work, visit the students at one of the schools or speak with colleagues, I am reminded of how fortunate I am to be a part of something so wonderful, so rewarding and so amazing!
