On Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, I am running the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Half Marathon to raise money for a local charity, ACT Alexandria.
I got involved with the Runningbrooke fund to train for a half-marathon with the goal of raising money for a local charity in my community through the Runningbrooke Fund. I have been completely inspired by Brooke Curran, a long-time marathon runner, local Alexandrian and mother of three, who started the Runningbrooke Fund to give back to the community through her love of running. Since establishing the RunningBrooke Fund in May of 2009, Brooke has run over 35 marathons and has raised over $51,500 for the five local charities in Alexandria, Virginia. I hope to exceed my fundraising goal of $1,000. Thank you for your support.
