American Diabetes Association's mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
American Diabetes Association will be competing in Give to the Max Day: Greater Washington, on November 9th. There will be more than $100,000 in cash awards available for local nonprofits who generate the most in donations, and those that attract the most individual donors. We have our sights set on winning and we need your help!

With nearly 26 million children and adults in America living with diabetes, and another 79 million at high risk for developing type 2 diabetes, this disease is taking a devastating physical, emotional and financial toll on our community.
*Every 17 seconds, someone is diagnosed with diabetes.
*Diabetes kills more people each year than breast cancer and AIDS combined.
*As many as 1 in 3 American adults will have diabetes in 2050 unless we take steps to Stop Diabetes.
The American Diabetes Association National Capital Area promotes awareness of diabetes to the high at-risk metro area population. It sponsors free health screenings and education programs in churches, community centers and schools to help people learn how to reduce their risk of diabetes. To learn how you can get involved in our community go to www.diabetes.org/nationalcapitalarea Now is the time to act!
