We stop pollution and restore clean water in the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers and tributaries through enforcement and community engagement.
Potomac Riverkeeper is a nonprofit group made up of friends, neighbors, and families who want safe drinking water and the ability to fish and swim in the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers. These rivers, and the smaller streams and runs that feed them, make up the water supply for almost all of the six million people living in four states and the District of Columbia.
Our organization includes two Riverkeepers for the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers. We are a proud member of the Waterkeeper Alliance, and are listed as "One of the Best" charities in the 2010-2011 Catalogue for Philanthropy: Greater Washington.
We need your help if we are going to be successful in our mission to protect our shared water supply. The strength of our group is the number of people who support our mission of community-building activities and pollution-busting enforcement. Please consider becoming a member of Potomac Riverkeeper.
