This year Ivymount celebrates 50 years of exceptional programs for exceptional students.

Through all of the past 50 years, Ivymount has never rested on its laurels: we believe there is always more we can do to refine and develop the best possible programs for our students.

Collectively, Ivymount School and Programs is meeting the diverse needs of families whose children depend on individualized and carefully crafted programs that provide them with options for positive and productive futures. Ivymount, in turn, depends on a simply amazing staff who apply skills, training, and commitment with their students every day. And yet, our highly trained staff are paid 73% of what the local public school system pays its teachers and therapists.

Over a dozen research and collaborative partnerships with leading organizations in Washington DC, including NIH Clinical Center, Children’s National Medical Center and the Smithsonian Institution Accessibility Program, have ensured that Ivymount’s innovative models and best practices are widely disseminated throughout the community.
