Friends of Rock Creek's Environment--now called Rock Creek Conservancy--works to protect and restore Rock Creek

Where the wild things are ... right in the middle of a major city. Foxes, beavers, hawks, turtles, and even the Hay's spring amphipod--a tiny creature found nowhere else on earth-- live in Rock Creek Park. Help us keep this area healthy and beautiful for the wild things and the millions of people who enjoy this natural treasure!

We mobilize over 2,000 people a year to pick up trash, save trees from the chokehold of invasive vines, and plant trees. We recruit from neighborhoods along the 33-mile length of Rock Creek and connect people with their local section of park. Volunteers of all ages--from 2 to 82--come out to help.
