Engaged Community Offshoots (aka ECO City Farms) grows great food, farms and farmers inside the Capital Beltway in Edmonston, MD.

At ECO City Farms, we seek to enhance food security, improve nutrition and health, preserve cultural and ecological diversity, and more through sustainable agriculture and healthy food education.

At our flagship farm in Edmonston, we grow vegetables, raise chickens for eggs and keep bees on our 1-acre farm, a solar- and geo-thermal-powered site. Our operation currently includes four hoop houses, an outdoor classroom, and several types of composting. We are expanding our farm to accommodate more hoop houses, a commercial kitchen, a larger classroom space, and a farm stand.

Your support will help us expand our current farm and plan for a new urban farming project in a low-income housing complex, also inside the Beltway in Prince Georges County, MD.

Please visit us on the farm or at our website to see our work on building local food systems in action! We are located at 4913 Crittenden Street, Edmonston, MD 20781.

This organization provides so much more than fresh & healthy food. They provide a health space for the community to engage with the land and with each other, SO many opportunities to learn, and a wonderful staff who are always willing to teach.
