My family and friends have supported my efforts to provide volunteer tax assistance to low-income familes for almost 12 years. There are a lot of ways to fight for economic justice I want to share briefly why I have spent nearly 12 years focused on this way of fighting poverty.

It is really about the volunteers and the change I see among so many of them. When a volunteer says to me this experience of preparing taxes has changed my life. I know we are not just geting a single mom a couple of thousand dollars. I believe that we are making real social change. Our volunteers realize that there are thousands of people who as hard as they try need a hand up to make the lives of their children better. I believe when people related to each other as people it makes all the difference in the world.

We can do so much with just a little bit of funding because of volunteers and for as little as $10 you will make a big difference.
