DCLY takes a holistic approach to improving the juvenile justice system focusing on prevention, representation, and rehabilitation.

The idea for DCLY was hatched in 2006 when alumni from the Georgetown Juvenile Justice Clinic realized the need for the DC community to come together to fix its juvenile justice system. Starting as an all-volunteer organization, its members have testified at the D.C. Council, organized youth organizations from across D.C., spread awareness of best practices, and provided countless hours of direct service.

Today -- DCLY has grown and has brought institutional actors, non-profits, and youth together to push for reforms that both increase community safety while providing essential services and structure for our most underserved youth.
