Bread for the City
Bread for the City provides food, clothing, health care, legal assistance and comprehensive social services to low income DC residents.
Founded in 1974, Bread for the City is a front line agency serving DC’s poor. We operate two Centers in the District of Columbia, providing food, clothing, health care, legal assistance and comprehensive social services to low-income residents -- all for free, provided under one roof in an atmosphere of dignity and respect. Thanks to the efforts of hundreds of volunteers and the contributions of thousands in the community, Bread for the City helps more than 10,000 people each month.
We're currently in the midst of our annual Holiday Helpings campaign. With your support, we provide complete holiday meals - a turkey and all the trimmings - to more than 9,000 struggling families. It costs just $28.85 to provide a holiday meal to a family of four. How many families can you help this year?
