ACU is raising this money to fund our yearlong efforts to produce materials to fight diabetes in the communities our clinicians serve. We want to disseminate diabetes-related materials and best practices, including plain language patient handouts and a wall calendar with simple steps to fight diabetes in English and Spanish. This will be complemented by a year-long communications effort using our website, e-newsletter and social media to promote culturally appropriate messages about healthy eating and exercise which are key to the prevention of diabetes.
